two truths and a lie

I once danced across the bridge made famous in the movie Dirty Dancing. TRUE! That’s me on the bridge, and Johnny’s cabin above—which DID have books.

I won an essay contest in 2nd grade and my prize was to meet Shel Silverstein. FALSE! I won the contest, but my prize was to meet Mr. Louis Sachar (Sachar rhymes with Cracker!).

I once put a group of penguins to sleep by singing them a lullaby. TRUE! In July 2013, witnessed by my husband and a hotel employee names Everisto, I began freestyling a lullaby for penguins that I was certain needed their sleep. During the two-minute serenade, about eight penguins laid down and went to sleep. It was a mic-drop moment for sure, particularly for someone who is never encouraged to sing for others enjoyment!
